THE SOLUTION FOR SADDLE PAIN
One look tells you that this is a saddle that doesn’t follow convention – ISM has re-thought the way a saddle should work, without being influenced by the way it looks. Using human anatomy and physiology – not tradition – as primary design parameters, ISM saddles re-distribute pressure in the perineal region, reducing nerve pressure and blood flow impedance.
ISM saddles are designed to focus body weight on the ‘sit bones’ of the rider’s pelvis. The top three diagrams below show the complete relief of pressure on the perineum, removing pressure from nerves and blood vessels. The traditional saddle distributes a lot of body weight to the perineum, a region not meant to bear weight.
There are several models to chose from, depending on your needs:
RACING II - time trial and triathlon bikes, where the hip angle is 0-30 degrees.
ROAD - slightly wider and more padding, but still meant to serve the needs of the time trialist and triathlete.
TIME TRIAL – sculpted wings allow maximum hip rotation and the most aggressive position possible.
PODIUM - the evolution of the road racing saddle. The shape, width and slope of the nose and tail were developed using input from Pro Tour riders. Combination of foam and gel padding plus titanium rails.
BREAKAWAY - shaped the same as Podium, but more padding and oh-so-slightly wider and heavier.
PROLOGUE - carries the same basic shaping of the Podium, with cr-mo rails and softer foam that make this a more economical and plusher option.
PELOTON - shaped and padded for road bike positioning.
PEAK - shaped to accommodate the mountain biker’s need to shift easily on the saddle, with rounded edges to avoid catching shorts.
TYPHOON - additional padding and broader support for greater surface contact with the pelvis. Ideal for recreational riders and commuters.
CENTURY - sport-touring cyclists will appreciate the comfort of this saddle’s plush padding. Constructed with a Lycra cover and stainless steel rails.
